Future Authors
Morgan and I had the honor of being invited to speak to a little group of future authors. These amazingly-creative kiddo meet at South Park Library today and started their WQED submission stories.
I had a lot of fun listening to their story idea and why. Morgan provided support, encouragement and ideas while I reminded them to make sure their first line grabs their reader. It brought back amazing memories of the days my three kids entered this contest. Each year, I helped them write and illustrate a story. I loved every minute watching my kids imagination come alive on paper. (Yes, I made copies and still have their submissions.) My kids are now in College, so today was so special for me.
The high-school aged volunteer read Morgan's book to them, I answered questions and passed out stickers. I can't wait to see how these stories come out.
Each year, Pittsburgh's WQED has this Writing contest for K-5Th graders. Link below
Now, I start prepping for my next trip...
